Itinerary
Day To Day
Your plane touches down in Kenya’s capital city, Nairobi, in the evening. After landing, you’ll be fast-tracked through the airport and transferred to your home for the evening – Hemingways Nairobi Hotel.
Located in the tranquil, upscale neighbourhood of Karen, you’ll arrive at the luxury boutique hotel in time for a hearty dinner before enjoying a peaceful night’s sleep. You’ll want to get all the rest you can before the real adventure begins.
After an early bite at Hemingways, you’ll be met by a SkySafari representative who will brief you on your East African safari. Once you know all the details, you’ll be driven to Nairobi’s Wilson Airport, where a SkySafari flight whisks you away to the incredible Amboseli National Park. Enjoy a slow morning game drive on your way to your next home away from home.
You’ll arrive at Tortilis Camp in time for a wholesome lunch. This rustic yet modern camp is renowned for its exceptional service and scenic hillside setting on the border of Amboseli National Park. With breath-taking views of Mounts Kilimanjaro and Meru, even doing the most basic of tasks like brushing your teeth or sipping on your morning coffee becomes a magical affair.
During your time at Tortilis, you’ll have access to a wide range of activities, including early morning and late afternoon game drives, as well as guided game walks, bush breakfasts, scenic sundowners on the plains and private dinners at camp.
One last breakfast at Tortilis and a morning game drive through Amboseli sees you off on the next leg of your journey. A comfortable transfer takes you to Amboseli airstrip for a SkySafari flight to Loisaba Conservancy where a VIP welcome awaits you. After a briefing about the conservancy, head off to Loisaba Tented Camp, enjoying a game drive en-route. You’ll arrive just in time for a delectable lunch, after which an afternoon game drive is on the cards. Round the day off with dinner and drinks back at camp.
Loisaba has an array of activities to fill your morning. Start your day off with a classic game drive or guided bush walk. Or if you’d rather try an alternative experience to traditional game viewing, horse and camel safaris are available. Lion tracking, seasonal fishing, mountain biking and a visit to the conservancy headquarters to meet the anti-poaching sniffer dogs are also available. Or indulge your cultural side with a visit to the Samburu village and interact with the local community.
End your morning off with breakfast in the bush before driving back to camp. You have some time before lunch, so why not spend it being pampered with a spa treatment? If that’s not your style, some light reading or a power nap is a good way to unwind. After lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive followed by sundowners in the bush as the sun sets and a delicious dinner back at camp
Fill up on breakfast at Loisaba before your SkySafari flight to the legendary Masai Mara. Your first experience in this national reserve will be an exciting game drive en-route to your next destination. You’ll arrive at the charming Sand River Masai Mara in time for a delectable lunch followed by an afternoon game drive. End your day with sundowners in the bush, taking in the incredible scenery of the untamed landscape and tranquil sounds of nature. Return to camp for a bite to eat and then settle into one of the modern canvas suites for the evening – be sure to rest up for the next day’s big adventure.
Wake up before the first rays of light illuminate the horizon and fuel up on an early breakfast. Then hop into a game drive vehicle and enjoy a full day game drive into the legendary Masai Mara. From the Big 5 to big cats and everything in-between, you have a good chance of spotting nearly every African animal on your bucket list.
And let’s not forget about the stunning scenery. Open grassland, seasonal riverlets and clumps of distinctive acacia trees are best observed during your stop. A picnic hamper lunch is served in the middle of the bush, allowing you to enjoy a wholesome meal while immersing yourself in the African wilderness. By the time you head back to camp, you’ll have worked up a healthy appetite – which is good because a mouth-watering dinner under the stars awaits you back at Sand River.
Day eight concludes your safari tour of Kenya but is the beginning of your journey through Tanzania. Enjoy one last meal in the Masai Mara before your transfer to Keekorok airstrip. Catch your SkySafari flight to Kisumu. From Kisumu you’ll head to Musoma before a final flight to Lobo or Seronera (depending on the season).
You’ll be greeted warmly by a SkySafari representative for a transfer to your first stop in Tanzania. Serengeti Migration Camp is hidden amongst rocky outcrops in the northern part of the Serengeti National Park. With elevated tented suites to afford breath-taking views of the Serengeti plains. Enjoy a welcome lunch, afternoon game drive and then dinner at camp.
A day in the Serengeti starts with a hearty breakfast to fuel you for the game drive ahead. The rest of the morning is spent exploring this diverse, wildlife-filled environment. In season, witness nature’s grandest show: the Great Wildebeest Migration. During your game drives, your guide will select a safe, scenic spot to enjoy lunch in the bush before returning to camp for an afternoon of relaxation and a delicious dinner under a canopy of stars.
After breakfast at Serengeti Migration Camp, enjoy a leisurely game drive en-route to the airstrip for a SkySafari flight to Manyara. Fill your belly with a delicious lunch before another game drive, this time through the epic Lake Manyara National Park. Lying at the foot of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, this diverse environment is characterised by forests, wetlands, floodplains and acacia woodlands that support a variety of wildlife – the most notable of which are the famous tree-climbing lions.
Your day winds down as you head to your accommodation for the next two nights, The Manor at Ngorongoro. This charming, luxury Cape Dutch manor house set amid a gorgeous garden is the perfect base from which to explore the ever-popular Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Settle into your cottage and get acquainted with the lodge before unwinding with a spa treatment. Then it’s off to a lovely dinner to end off your evening. Rest up as tomorrow is a full day exploring the Crater floor!
Activate the morning with an early breakfast in preparation for a full day tour of the Ngorongoro Crater. Regarded as one of East Africa’s top safari destinations, Ngorongoro Crater offers a unique experience – a thriving, diverse habitat that’s home to 30,000 animals located in an ancient volcanic caldera. During your picnic lunch in the crater, take the time to truly immerse yourself in your surroundings and take in the beauty of the untouched nature around you. A delicious dinner and your cosy room back at the Manor await. Take a relaxing hot bath and sink into a soft sofa next to the fireplace.
Your ride from the airstrip to Sand River Masai Mara Camp, a secluded spot in the southern area of the reserve, is your first game drive: don't be surprised if you meet most of the Big Five before lunch. Even if you don't, your afternoon game drive might oblige: these acacia-dotted plains are dense with game. Keep your eyes peeled for lion, leopard and cheetah, hyena, giraffe and elephant, and 500-plus species of bird.

Keep your eyes peeled for lion, leopard and cheetah, hyena, giraffe and elephant, and 500-plus species of bird.
Raising a Sundowner in this classic tranche of wilderness is the perfect way to toast the day. Returning to Sand River Masai Mara is the icing on the cake – there are few more elegant places to stay than this enclave of 1920s glamour. The Condé Nast Traveller Readers' Choice Awards 2020 named it one of the 50 Best Resorts in the World and seventh best in Africa.
After a dawn breakfast, set off with a packed picnic hamper for a full day's game drive, so you can delve deeper into the reserve. Nowhere in Africa is wildlife more abundant. And while the seasonal migration of two million wildebeest, zebra and gazelle crossing from the Serengeti is one of Mother Nature's greatest spectacles, the profusion of wildlife in the Mara – from 450 species of bird to the Big Five – makes it one of the best safari spots year round.
Savour your final breakfast in Tanzania! All good things must come to an end, unfortunately, but fear not because you still have a day in Arusha. You’ll be driven to the airstrip to catch your SkySafari flight to Arusha Airport.
Depending on the time of your outbound flight, a day room is available to you at Arusha Coffee Lodge, located on Tanzania’s largest coffee plantation. While here, take the time to unwind and reflect on your safari experience in Africa while enjoying the views of Mount Meru, walking along the rows of emerald-green plantations or relaxing with the freshest cup of coffee at the coffee shop and patisserie.
Closer to the time of your departing flight, you’ll be driven to Kilimanjaro International Airport. We hope to see you again soon!

Day To Day
Jambo, karibu Kenya! The start of your African adventure begins after you’re picked up and transferred to your home for the night, just 30 minutes away from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Your stop-over this evening is Nairobi Tented Camp. The first of its kind in the area, the upscale camp is located in the heart of Nairobi National Park and is the perfect lead-in to ready you for 10 days of safari exploits. Squeeze in your first game drive of the trip while here or spend some time in nature and savour the feeling of being in the thick of the African wilderness.
Awake to the sounds of nature and enjoy early breakfast before catching your ride to Wilson Airport, where a 40-minute flight takes you to the Selenkay/Amboseli airstrip. Your safari starts early here, with a game drive en route to your next stop at Porini Amboseli Camp. Set in the private Selenkay Conservancy, Porini Amboseli is a small and intimate camp that offers comfortable lodging authentically—think under-canvas tented rooms, bucket showers and lanterns as the main source of light at night.
You won’t be spending much time in your room, though. There’s so much to see and do, including spotting all the big cats on the conservancy, enjoying sundowners with Kilimanjaro in the distance, visiting the nearby Maasai village and, of course, going on day and night game drives. You’ll also have the opportunity to enjoy game drives through Amboseli National Park, delighting in delicious picnic lunches while the hordes of animals go about their day in the distance.
Another early breakfast is your farewell before you depart Amboseli for a flight back to Wilson Airport. An hour’s flight takes you to Nanyuki airstrip, where you’ll be transferred to the eco-conscious Porini Rhino Camp, set at the bottom of the Laikipia Plateau in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy.
While at Rhino Camp, your days will be filled with excellent game viewing in the conservancy (keep an eye out for the Big 5 – lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo). Be sure to take advantage of all the unique activities on offer between game drives. Drop by the chimpanzee sanctuary to say “Hi” to the rescued primates, take part in an optional lion tracking excursion and horse ride through the wild or with rhinos. One opportunity you definitely cannot miss is a visit to the Endangered Species Boma to see the world’s last two remaining Northern white rhinos; you’ll also get the chance to hand-feed Baraka, a blind black rhino!
Bid farewell to Ol Pejeta with one last game drive through the conservancy before catching your chartered flight to Meru National Park. Rhino River Camp is the slice of paradise you get to call home for the next two nights. A bit more upscale than your previous lodgings, Rhino River Camp is the ideal place to recharge after five days of safari adventures.
Take some time to re-centre by cooling off in the swimming pool or unwinding with a therapeutic massage after your arrival. Then set out to explore the vast, untamed wilderness of the Meru National Park. Meru is affectionately known as Kenya’s ‘complete wilderness’ due to its large populations of elephant, hippo, buffalo, lion, cheetah, leopard and countless other classic African mammal species.
Not to mention the park’s Rhino Sanctuary, an area devoted to protecting and increasing the population of rhino. There are 40 white and 20 black rhinos roaming freely on the grounds! Between game drives, explore your surroundings on foot by taking a nature walk to the nearby farms, villages and countryside. Or take a hike up a small extinct volcano, to discover the hidden forest inside.
One last game drive through the Ol Kinyei Conservancy precedes your final breakfast in Kenya. It’s a bittersweet parting as you catch a 75-minute mid-morning flight back to Nairobi’s Wilson Airport. From there, you’ll be comfortably transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your outbound flight.

Day To Day
Upon arrival at Kenya’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, a vehicle waits to transfer you to Wilson Airport, where you board a scheduled flight to the Masai Mara National Reserve. Your home for two nights is the opulent Bateleur Camp. Set within the shade of an indigenous forest overlooking the grasslands of a private concession in the western Mara where the iconic ending scene of Out of Africa was filmed.
During the heat of the day, the pool offers a refreshing escape, complete with poolside loungers and the subtly attentive service of your personal butler. Your tented suite is a romantic blend of canvas and polished hardwood, with a generous bathroom and magnificent views from a private deck with a splendid view of faraway rolling plains.
The Mara has a richly varied resident population of wildlife, including all the Big 5, and the Great Migration occurs when the vast herds of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle move through the ecosystem following the rains and fresh grazing. The plains are best explored by vehicle on early morning and late afternoon game drives when wildlife is most active. Guided nature walks provide a more intimate insight into the natural environment and spotlit night drives add a thrilling sense of adventure. One of the camp’s delightful traditions is stopping at a scenic spot for refreshing sundowners during the late afternoon drive.
After an early morning game drive and a hearty breakfast, you will return to Wilson Airport for a scheduled flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport in Tanzania. One more air transfer delivers you to Lake Manyara, the area Hemingway described as, ‘the loveliest I had seen in Africa’. Your home for two nights is the enchanting Lake Manyara Tree Lodge. Elegant and comfortable, the lodge’s delightful tree houses are cradled in the boughs of an ancient mahogany forest.
Manyara’s lush forests are alive with skipping blue monkeys and the joyous honking of hornbills. Inland from the floodplains lies a narrow belt of acacia woodland, home to tree-climbing lions, Africa’s graceful giants, elephants and the diminutive Kirk’s dik-dik. Clans of banded mongoose add a comical touch to the panorama. Manyara is a birder’s delight thanks to the combination of wetlands, woodlands and hot springs. Birds flourish here – a haven for many large, migratory and sedentary water birds, including flamingos, pelicans and storks.
The Lodge offers daily game viewing expeditions on foot, safari vehicle or mountain bikes, all led by expert guides, as well as night drives that offer fascinating insights into the rich nocturnal life of the Park, and the chance to spot elusive creatures like aardvark and bat-eared foxes.
After an early game drive and delicious breakfast, you will be transferred by road from Lake Manyara to the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater. This is a place of wonders – from its miraculous terrain to the abundant fauna and flora it supports, from its status as a World Heritage Site to the harmonious coexistence of its people and wildlife. Lemala Osonjoi Lodge, in the Ngorongoro Conservation area is the perfect base from which to explore this unique destination.
The Crater is the world’s largest intact, un-flooded caldera. Your route from the lodge descends over the lush rainforests of the rim, 610m (2 000ft) down to the grasslands of the crater floor, an area of about 260 square kilometres (100 square miles). This haven provides a year-round home to wildebeest, zebra, eland and gazelle, along with Africa’s densest population of lion. The rainforests shelter elephant, mountain buck, buffalo, hyena, wild dog, leopard and cheetah.
Spend a full day game viewing and exploring the crater floor, stopping to picnic on the grasslands amidst the grazing herds. Return to the Lodge for sundowners on the crater’s rim and a sumptuous feast in the domed dining area.
After breakfast, a short flight whisks you to the place the Maasai call Siringitu, the ‘place where the land moves on forever’. Tanzania’s first game reserve, the Serengeti National Park is one of the last remaining natural migration corridors and one of the oldest ecosystems on earth. Its climate, vegetation and fauna have remained mostly unchanged over the past million years. The instinct that drives the annual Great Migration of more than a million wildebeest, gazelle and zebra is so powerful that neither drought nor crocodile-infested rivers can halt it.
The drive to your Serengeti Under Canvas Camp whets your appetite for more. After settling into your suite, you waste no time taking your place on the afternoon game drive. There is so much to see here that the drive lasts until sundowner time, when your ranger selects a scenic spot to stop and delve into the generous picnic hamper. After sunset, the game drive continues with a deftly operated spotlight seeking out the nocturnal creatures that emerge after dusk. You return to camp in time to freshen up and join your fellow explorers to dine under the stars. The emphasis at this camp is on comfortable luxury and a romantic, close-to-nature experience. In addition to daily game drives, we highly recommend an early morning hot-air balloon ride.
After breakfast, you begin your journey home. Scheduled flights take you to Kilimanjaro International Airport and on to Wilson Airport in Nairobi, Kenya, where a driver waits to transfer you to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight home. You have seen spectacular sights and created unforgettable memories – simply close your eyes to feel the warmth of the African sun on your skin, catch the scent of wild sage on the cool evening air, and hear the low, spine-tingling call of lions at dusk. All this and more you have witnessed on your East Africa safari.

Set on a working farm, you can expect warm hospitality, comfortable lodgings and delicious farm-to-table cuisine. With its prime location on the outskirts of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you can easily access the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater.
You can also enjoy activities such as guided walks, visits to the local Maasai village, and game drives to the nearby Ngorongoro Crater. For those looking for a peaceful retreat amidst Tanzania’s stunning highlands, Ngorongoro Farm House is the perfect choice.
After breakfast, you continue on to the Serengeti and your accommodation, Ubuntu Migration Camp. A tented camp lying under thorn trees, Ubuntu is a semi-permanent mobile camp that follows the rhythm of the Wildebeest Migration and sets up in the best locations according to the time of year.
You may be in time to see the herds braving crocodile-infested waters as they cross the Serengeti’s rivers at mid-year, or catch the Migration’s great birthing season in February, a bountiful time for the resident big cats and wild dogs. Morning and afternoon game drives are the focus, your day beginning with early morning tea or coffee or hot chocolate at your tent, and ending with fireside drinks and a 3-course supper. Your tented suite is comfortable, unpretentious and comes with its own bathroom with a hot-water bucket shower.
There is time for breakfast and perhaps a last drive before your transfer to Serengeti South airstrip and a scheduled mid-morning flight back to Arusha’s Kilimanjaro International Airport. You will arrive at lunchtime for your onward travel arrangements and the end to this tour.

Day To Day
A 90-minute flight from Robert Gabriel Mugabe Airport in Harare to the Mana Pools airstrip places you in the middle of Mana Pools National Park. A short 30-minute drive from there delivers you to the first stop on your African safari: Nyamatusi Camp. Located near the winding Zambezi River that feeds the lush surroundings, Nyamatusi is a seasonal camp (open from April to November) that provides front-row seats to one of Africa's last remaining untouched frontiers.
Lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, buffalo, hyenas and wildebeest are just some of the wildlife species that can be found wandering Mana Pools' complex ecosystem. With the camp's off season, animals are free from human contact for up to six months of the year. The untamed animal natures that arise from this make for surreal, raw encounters. Catch a glimpse of big game by signing up for guided walks, canoeing safaris and game drives. Or have fun with the tamer wildlife by fishing and birding. The elephant tracking that takes place throughout the park is an exceptional experience.
On day 4, it's back to Mana Pools main airstrip for the flight over to Manga Airstrip and the next stop on your itinerary..
It's a 30-minute drive from Manga Airstrip to the award-winning, eco-friendly Somalisa Tented Camp, the second sojourn on your African safari.
Named Zimbabwe's leading tented safari camp in the 2019 World Travel Awards, Somalisa is situated near a watering hole frequented by wildlife wandering the plains. Keep an eye out for the elephants who are repeat visitors. Grab a chilled drink, take a seat on the deck and watch these gentle giants quench their thirst as the sun sinks below the horizon.
Explore the wonder that is Hwange National Park with guided nature walks, night drives, game drives, horse riding, birding and cultural village visits. Home to immense numbers of buffalo and elephants, and renowned for its lion, leopard and cheetah sightings, you're sure to get within throwing distance of the big names in game.
On day seven, bid farewell to Zimbabwe and travel to it's equally beautiful and astonishing neighbour Zambia. A 45-minute flight from Manga Airstrip to Victoria Falls Airport starts the final lap of your African safari adventure.
Welcome to Zambia! A 50-minute drive from Victoria Falls Airport takes you to one of the country's most extravagant and contemporary lodges: Thorntree River Lodge. Providing tranquil, picturesque views of the passing Zambezi River and situated less than 30-minutes from crowd-favourite Victoria Falls, there's no better place to bring your once-in-a-lifetime trip to a close.
There are numerous African safari experiences to be had during your stay in the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park. Spend your days on game drives, taking guided nature walks, exploring the river by kayaking or fishing, tracking white rhinos by foot, or gaining insight into local customs when visiting the nearby Simonga Village. After a jam-packed day of activities, wind down with sundowners on Thorntree's private boat as the sun sets over the river. Then head back to camp and share your stories around the fire in the sunken boma (outdoor seating enclosure) or on the floating deck overlooking the river. And you can relax knowing your children are safe and sound learning about nature at the Ngwana Club
You can't visit Mosi-oa-Tunya (meaning ‘The Smoke That Thunders') without getting up close to the park's namesake, Victoria Falls. Guided rainforest walks, bungee jumping off Victoria Falls Bridge and helicopter flips over the waterfall are just a few of the activities you can participate in.
Day 10 sees you depart Thorntree with a 20-minute transfer to Harry Mwanga Nkumbula Airport in Livingstone. You may be leaving Africa behind physically, but the memories and experiences forged on safari will ensure that it remains in your heart.

Easy-paced and well-balanced, it would suit discerning couples and honeymooners as well as groups of friends travelling together.
The adventure opens at the Cape Grace in Cape Town, perhaps the best-loved of the city's larger five-star hotels. Occupying prime position at the V&A Waterfront, you are a two-minute stroll from the Robben Island Ferry terminal and the heart of the Waterfront. A full-day Cape Point tour is built into the itinerary – with plenty of time to explore on your own – before you are whisked to the Winelands and a luxury suite in Franschhoek where fine food and wine – plus a guided day tour – await you.
The tempo changes as you fly directly to the Kruger National Park and begin your safari. Your destination is Londolozi, a private concession within the legendary Sabi Sands Game Reserve, a privately-owned and managed wildlife area adjoining the Kruger. It is a destination renowned for sightings of the Big 5 (lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard) as well as its outstanding accommodation. With two full days here, you are sure to see why Londolozi has earned its reputation as one of the finest private concessions in the Sabi Sands.

Itinerary
Day To Day
The journey begins with you settling back in a luxury sedan as you are driven from Cape Town International Airport to the V&A Waterfront and the Cape Grace, sitting regally at its heart. All the attractions and amenities of the Waterfront are within a few minutes of the hotel – the Robben Island Ferry terminal, countless restaurants and bars plus shops and boutiques of every description.
You have a full-day Cape Point guided tour to look forward to plus plenty of time left over to do as much as you’d like in and around the city. Traditional favourites Table Mountain and the beaches of Camps Bay and Clifton are just a short drive from the hotel as are more modern attractions such as the Biscuit Mill and Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa.
A transfer from the Cape Grace to La Residence in Franschhoek changes the scenery; you leave behind the ocean and swop it for craggy mountains overlooking valley floors covered in vineyards – welcome to the Cape Winelands. Designed as a French country chateau, La Residence sits on a wine and olive estate and makes the perfect base from which to explore the area, an unrestrained foodie-heaven.
A full-day Winelands tour is included in the itinerary, and you can choose between eating dinner at the guesthouse or trying any one of the cosy bistros and silver-plated restaurants in town. And if you feel like being pampered, La Residence has two in-house spa therapists and a range of soothing massages and treatments, including the unique Pinotage Body Polish.
A transfer back to Cape Town International Airport and a direct flight to Kruger Mpumalanga International starts the day, after which you are driven to Londolozi Private Granite Suites in the Londolozi Private Game Reserve. One of the smallest and most intimate accommodations in the reserve, this is a destination of tailored service and meticulous attention to detail.
Morning and afternoon game drives in search of the heavyweight animals are the focus at Londolozi: it is a reserve famous for its Big 5 sightings, especially of leopard – the most elusive on the list. A private setting means you can also explore on foot with your guide and enjoy spot-lit evening drives too, your chance to see nocturnal creatures on the prowl. Back at camp, your elegant, clean-lined and air-conditioned suite comes with stunning wilderness views, including from its private plunge pool.
A flight from Kruger Mpumalanga Airport to Livingstone in Zambia whisks you across southern Africa in under two hours. You are met at the airport and transferred across the Zambezi River into Zimbabwe and Victoria Falls Island Lodge. A visit to the thundering waterfall awaits you, and you can also look forward to wildlife viewing, some of the best birding in Africa, and sunset boat cruises on the river in blissful exclusivity. Explore Victoria Falls and all the adventurous activities such as scenic helicopter flights, ziplining, and even bungee jumping for those who dare.
After breakfast at Victoria Falls Island Lodge you are transferred a short distance by boat from the island and then into the vehicle for the drive to Victoria Falls International Airport (on the Zimbabwean side) where the tour ends and you begin your onward travel arrangements.
